The Senior Director, US Logistics Strategy & Optimization is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the Logistics Services Organization for Krispy Kreme US. The logistics function is a critical enabler for the business and a strategic imperative for the next several years. This newly created role includes oversight of the US logistics services functions, consisting of internal centralized support teams, and supports our 3rd party partnerships.

A TASTE OF WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

Strategic Planning

  • Implement a comprehensive strategy for logistics and transportation operations aligned with overall business goals. Identify opportunities for cross-functional integration and optimization.
  • Continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes and overall efficiency of the logistics function.
  • Promote a culture of innovation and efficiency within the team.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards in both transportation and distribution operations.

Transportation Management

  • Manage teams responsible for internal fleet, route optimization, customer service, and delivery analytics. Develop programs to improve key success measures such as fleet costs, route optimization, and delivery efficiency.
  • Oversee a large internal fleet of several hundred vehicles and liaison with 3rd party logistics providers. Optimize transportation networks for cost-effectiveness and efficiency. Coordinate with cross-functional partners (e.g., Procurement) to negotiate and secure vehicle assets purchase programs annually. Develop and manage partnerships with third-party logistics organizations and the management of our core common carrier base. Develop and implement best-in-class asset management programs to improve asset utilization and reduce downtime.
  • Strong collaborator with internal and external partners, c-suite level leadership and customers across the US organization. Able to bring people together to align goals and receive buy in on plans.

Technology Integration

  • Explore and implement innovative technology solutions to better manage driver operations, safety, and improve service levels to our internal and external customers. Utilize data analytics and automation to improve operational processes. Evaluate and implement technology solutions to improve service levels, reduce costs and improve efficiencies.

Cost Management

  • Manage department level P&L annual spend. Identify opportunities to optimize and generate value creation ideas.
  • Lead through data and analytics. Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) for both transportation and distribution operations. Effectively be able to communicate difficult metrics throughout the organization to different audiences and in different situations.

  • 10+ plus years of progressive experience in leadership roles within Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation, or related Fields.
  • Bachelors degree in business, supply chain management, logistics, operations management, or related field.
