Case Worker

Join our team at Interim House, an esteemed substance abuse program for women located in West Mt. Airy, Philadelphia, PA. We are currently looking for a dedicated Caseworker to support our participants in their recovery journey.

The Caseworker will carry a caseload of participants in our residential and halfway house, as well as the Outpatient treatment program. Responsibilities include benefit activation, overseeing outside services, making aftercare referrals, accompanying women to community appointments, acquiring identification documents, supervising visitation, ensuring aftercare plans are in place, and liaising with the criminal justice system.

The role also involves assisting with clerical and administrative tasks within the programs.

This individual will collaborate closely with the Clinical Director, residential and outpatient staff, and the program director.

QUALIFICATIONS MINIMUM

  • Associates Degree in a related field with one year of experience OR High School Diploma with five years of experience in a substance abuse setting.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Understanding of co-occurring disorders, including trauma/abuse and substance use/abuse.
  • Ability to connect with women in a supportive manner.
  • Knowledge of the unique needs of women in recovery.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's license.

DUTIES

I.

Financial Coordination and Participant Benefits:

  • Facilitate obtaining client identification documents such as social security card, picture ID, birth certificates.
  • Complete necessary paperwork to activate client benefits promptly and ensure continuity of funding.
  • Manage client food stamps distribution, track weekly reports, and provide updates to the supervisor.
  • Use motivational interviewing techniques to help participants with resource needs.
  • Accompany clients to important appointments and provide financial guidance.
  • Maintain updated financial records for each client.
  • Monitor program databases for essential information.

II.
Program Coordination

  • Assist in the intake process and screening calls.
  • Conduct client clothing inventory and maintain donation records.
  • Ensure all necessary consents are signed and documented correctly.
  • Accompany clients to court and maintain documentation of progress.
  • Provide transportation for clients as needed.
  • Liaise with legal entities and therapists for comprehensive care.
  • Develop aftercare plans and follow-up appointments for clients.
  • Participate in community meetings and assist with case management.
  • Create agendas for case reviews and support community outreach events.

III.

General, Administrative & Other Duties:


  • Participate in yearly training programs.
  • Maintain records of service for clients.
  • Assist in scheduling and conducting case reviews.
  • Provide coverage at the front desk when needed.
  • Handle filing and administrative tasks as required.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by supervisors.
  • Support community outreach initiatives.
