As the Lead Structural Engineer for our South Carolina Transportation Structural team, based either in Lexington, SC, or Charleston, SC, you will be at the forefront of our most critical projects. You will spearhead the management of complex bridge projects, engage with cutting-edge design methodologies, and use your experience to solve intricate engineering problems. Your leadership will help cement Mead & Hunt's reputation as a leader in transportation infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise, manage, and mentor a team focused on structural design.
  • Lead as project manager on structural design projects, catering to DOTs and municipal clients.
  • Drive business development efforts, including proposal writing and proactive market engagement.
  • Collaborate with our Transportation Structures Division to optimize project resource allocation in South Carolina.
  • Undertake necessary management tasks and travel as required to meet project needs.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or higher in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • At least 12 years of experience in transportation structural design, focusing on bridges within a consulting environment.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license, with the ability to obtain licensure in South Carolina within six months.
Desired Skills
  • Proven leadership in transportation structural design projects.
  • Experience in structures condition inspection and team management.
  • Familiarity with structural analysis and design software such as OBD Suite, MDX, Midas, STAAD, AASHTO BrR, Microstation, and AutoCad.
  • A track record in business development and building successful practices with DOTs.
