Training Specialist

Position Summary:
The primary responsibilities for this position are to engage in learning & training activities designed to improve the skills of employees on the Import and Export Client Solutions team.
The secondary responsibilities will include performing duties within the Export/Import Client Solutions Team as defined in the appropriate job descriptions for these functions.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities:
Identify training needs by working with Client Solutions Team Leaders, Training Department, and Process Engineering.
Plan, organize, and schedule learning activities for Import and Export new hires.
Provide coaching and other learning activities designed to develop trainee knowledge and skill for improved performance.
Analyze trainee performance - identify and design follow up activities to improve learning
Perform all duties/responsibilities within Client Solutions during any downtime
Miscellaneous related duties or projects as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Export/Import Documentation, Bookings and Customer Service
Ability to focus on and measure the needs of adult learners.
Proficient computer skills to include LARA and all Microsoft Office applications
Skilled presenter capable of leading and facilitating learning activities
Coaching ability including listening, observing, questioning, and providing feedback
Understanding of adult learning concepts and learning theory
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to develop, encourage and motivate employees
Detail-oriented with strong organization and planning skills
Ability to work collaboratively with team members and other departments
Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrates strong customer service skills and passion
Education and Experience Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
2 years (in the following areas within the shipping industry Export/ Import Documentation,
Bookings,
Import/ Export Customer Service.
