Associate Accountant

American National is seeking a full-time, Associate Accountant in the Treasury Department. Your primary focus will be accuracy. You will review incoming corporate banking reports and assess what items align with accounting and clear accordingly. Should items not align 1-1, you will actively research the issue to resolve.

To thrive in the position, you should be meticulous, understand general accounting functions, worked in a banking institution or an alike position where you have been exposed to and understand terminology such as (ACH/Debits-Credits), with advanced skills in Excel.


Onsite, Placement Location:
League City, Texas


In consideration of candidate qualifications, the business will assess a Senior Accounting Technician (Junior job level) through the Associate Accountant (Mid-level job level within the career progression).

What will you do?

Match bank statement items to cash general ledger (GL) transactions and prepare SAP GL entries

Proactively collaborate with business areas to problem solve and resolve balancing issues

Generate portions of the monthly consolidated cash validation report

Assist with implementing process improvements and automation

Review SAP check registers to validate issued checks

Generate reports and post for business area(s) to utilize

Review bank balance reports to ensure they match the ledgers

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or applicable work experience considered (Treasury/Banking)

Professional and relevant industry work experience (Treasury/banking knowledge, General accounting background)

Microsoft Office Suite experience (Advanced skills in Excel)

SAP knowledge is beneficial
