POSITION SUMMARY:

The Service Operations Associate plays a vital role in the effective functioning of the Service Department, engaging in unit inventory management, conducting pre-delivery inspections (PDI), and facilitating delivery orientations. This position may also provide assistance to customers needing service or warranty repairs for their recreational vehicles and may support the sale of parts and accessories.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to exceptional customer service, ensuring a welcoming and efficient shopping experience for all patrons.
  • Welcomes all customers involved in unit delivery, service, warranty, and parts inquiries in a courteous and timely manner.
  • Responds to service, warranty, and parts inquiries both over the phone and in person.
  • Collaborates with the Receiving Department to unload, inspect, and verify VINs of new units delivered by manufacturers.
  • Labels received units with bar codes and updates their lot locations in the inventory management system.
  • Maintains communication regarding unit inventory status and assists with physical inventory counts.
  • Prints the daily unit delivery schedule to prepare for upcoming customer orientations.
  • Conducts final PDI and inspects the detailing of all units scheduled for delivery, reporting any discrepancies to the Service Manager and providing VIN verification.
  • Confirms that rigging and accessory installation instructions align with the work order.
  • Prepares the Owner's Delivery Packet and necessary documentation ahead of customer pick-up.
  • Explains the operation, break-in, and maintenance procedures of units and accessories to customers.
  • Assists service customers in documenting their concerns on the repair order.
  • Supports the Service Manager in creating related work orders and keeping customers updated on repair estimates and progress.
  • Assists in scheduling work within the department alongside the Marine GSM and senior management.
  • Stays informed about product warranty policies and procedures.
  • Facilitates warranty repair authorizations and related work order creation, manages parts sales within the inventory system, and processes payments, including daily batch reporting and till reconciliation.
  • Ensures that no unit is released until full payment is received.
  • Keeps a clean and professional workspace.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School diploma or equivalent experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with customers, vendors, and colleagues.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with customers, management, and co-workers.
  • Ability to navigate various functions within the dealership management data entry system.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Able to work in both indoor and outdoor environments.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods.
INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:
  • Performs tasks under general supervision, utilizing established procedures and innovative thinking. Makes decisions from limited options to resolve issues. Occasionally exercises independent judgment to complete assignments and often makes recommendations regarding work procedures and practices.
