  • Lead and mentor the Finance and Accounting team to ensure timely completion of all financial tasks and address any operational challenges.
  • Evaluate and interpret financial metrics, suggesting enhancements to optimize processes and overall financial health.
  • Collaborate closely with executive leadership to provide strategic direction and foster organizational growth.
  • Establish, refine, and document financial policies and procedures.
  • Focus areas include:
    • Overseeing accounting operations, including project evaluations and account reconciliations.
    • Supervising the preparation of monthly balance sheet schedules and year-end financial audits.
    • Managing cash flow through regular analysis and forecasting.
    • Reporting on budget variances related to projects and financial statements.
    • Assisting leadership in developing relevant KPIs and reporting on their variances.
    • Ensuring timely completion of financial status reports and month-end reconciliations.
    • Preparing comprehensive financial statements.
  • Provide motivational leadership through coaching and performance management, focusing on staff development and retention.
  • Act as a key decision-maker and subject matter expert on financial reporting and accounting practices.
  • Partner with leadership to review compliance issues, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and internal policies.
  • Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate timely audits and address any findings.
  • Develop and present insightful reports to assist leaders in managing their operations effectively.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is essential.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting is required.
  • Proven management experience is necessary.
  • Experience with NetSuite or Oracle is advantageous.
  • Background in construction and engineering sectors is preferred.
  • Experience in the professional services industry is a plus.
  • Demonstrated success in a labor-intensive operational environment.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate insights regarding financial and operational performance.
  • Hands-on approach to supporting team members as needed.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
