HRU Technical Resources has partnered with a German based company that manufactures machines and systems for a variety of industries (especially automotive).

This company specializes in surface coating systems, material handling / logistics systems, and automation technology (including vision systems). We are seeking a Managing Director to further growth and expansion in United States.

This person will play a key role in our US operations and will be in charge of sales and service delivery, general operations and long-term business and market growth.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Manage: Develop the organization and grow business and market share in the US. Oversee Project and Services Delivery, Quality, Sales, Purchasing, Supply Chain, HR, Finance, Maintenance, New Projects Management, and Administration.
  • Project Delivery: Ensure the successful delivery of assembly projects for our plant engineering systems, primarily in the automotive industry.
  • Quality Management: Establish quality management systems for the assembly of customized engineering solutions in Conveyor Technology, Surface Technology, and Thermal Coating.
  • Strategy Improvement: Enhance and execute the local strategy, focusing on developing new customers and markets in the US.
  • HR Management: Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate employees, providing comprehensive HR management for local staff.
  • Profit & Loss Responsibility: Manage the P&L for our US operations.
  • Client Relations: Establish close relationships with our international clients and OEM partners in relevant industries.
  • Headquarters Cooperation: Work closely with our headquarters to transfer necessary competencies.

Requirements:

  • Leadership Experience: Minimum of three years in general operations management for sales and assembly project delivery with a "hands-on" mentality.
  • Sales Management: At least three years leading a sales team and five years in technical account management, project management, and quality management in the automotive industry, specifically in Surface Coating Systems, Material Handling Systems, and Thermal Surface Technology.
  • Market Knowledge: Profound knowledge of the relevant market, clients, and targeted OEMs.
  • Industry Expertise: Good understanding of product and service requirements in the automotive industry.
  • Team Leadership: Experience in leading teams and working with international companies and global teams.
  • Electric Car Industry Knowledge: Advantageous to have experience in the electric car industry.
  • Educational Background: University degree in production technology or a similar field.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, fluency in English, and ideally German.

Work Environment / Other Info:


Our preference is for candidates who are open to being fully in the office / on site (but we are open to hybrid as well).


There will be occasional travel in this role (mainly in the USA, but rarely to Europe).

This role will involve a background check / drug screen as part of the hiring process.
