JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Financial Accountant is responsible for preparing ledger entries, reconciling ledger balances, assisting with monthly close procedures and analyzing month/year/annual trends and large differences. This position coordinates complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting and finance team and with other departments. This position is responsible for understanding and covering all key accounting duties. The Senior Financial Accountant identifies issues and brings solutions and feedback to upper management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare and analyze ledger entries and maintain supporting schedules. Reconcile ledger accounts, determine correcting journal entries, and document variances. Cover all accounting staff to ensure key duties are performed daily. Assist Accounting Manager with monthly close procedures. Coordinating with members of the finance team to review financial information and forecasts Work with IT to streamline reporting via development or third-party tools Evaluate and track capital expenditures and depreciation Maintain and document effective internal controls and processes to make certain that all company standards and accounting principles are met. Evaluate workflow processes and procedures to develop, recommend and implement procedural and system changes to increase accuracy and efficiencies. Coordinate special projects within the accounting department and across multiple departments. Other job duties and projects as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Bachelor's degree in accounting and/or finance plus two years of relevant work experience; in

absence of a degree, five or more years of relevant work experience can be substituted

Excellent time management skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as attention to detail Experience with organizing, scheduling, and coordinating finances Knowledge on auditing ledgers Advanced Excel skills and proficiency within MS Office Suite Proficiency within accounting systems; MS Business Central experience a plus Experience extracting data from multiple sources and analyze Manage confidential information and/or issues using discretion and judgment Ability to perform independently, with limited supervision Strong interpersonal skills
