Posting Summary

  • Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Temporary Finance Program Coordinator for the Rutgers School of Nursing located in Newark, NJ. Under direction, provide financial management and administrative support services for the Finance Department. Supervise and train support staff for the review and process of fiscal related requests in accordance with University policies and procedures as well as internal guidelines to ensure smooth financial operations of the School. Conduct other special projects as assigned.

Duties include:

  • Provide oversight of support staff for the review and process of expense related requests including Travel Report, Travel Advance, Check Request, Purchase Requisition, and others expense related requests to ensure inclusion of proper accounting information and supporting documentation for successful submission. Follow up to completion and resolves any outstanding issues and problems with appropriate parties. Provide financial approval on expense requests and travel cards processed within the School. Review and screen Travel Approval form and Pcard requests prior to approval by the Business Manager and/or Chief Financial Officer. Assist divisional and departmental staff in resolving issues related to policies and procedures to ensure smooth operation of expense request related activities.
  • Provide training and guidance to divisional and departmental administrative staff regarding Expense Management and Marketplace system as well as University policies and procedures for purchasing, accounts payable, invoice and vendor related activities. Represent the Finance Department to participate in university wide advisory committee, work group and system training and provide internal training for process improvement purposes. Act as liaison between SON staff and University Procurement and Accounts Payable Office on purchasing and payment related issues.
  • Oversee non salary expenses for the School's operating fund including monthly review and analysis for appropriateness, required accounting entry recording for expense accruals and reclassification, and timely submission of related account analyses to the University Controller's Office. Review and analyze non salary expenses and prepare detail expense reports for distribution to academic divisions and administrative department officers on a quarterly basis.
