About the Position
CIVIC is currently undergoing an exciting phase of growth led by a newly appointed Director of Business Development. We are in search of a dynamic and experienced development professional to join our team and play a key role in establishing new partnerships while nurturing existing ones. The ideal candidate will focus on managing relationships with Trusts, Foundations, and Corporates, supporting external engagement efforts, and overseeing donor relations and funding processes with a high level of autonomy.
Key Functions
- Leads engagement with philanthropic funding institutions in collaboration with the Business Development Director and the Executive Director.
- Develops strategies for donor engagement based on comprehensive research and analysis.
- Identifies funding opportunities and guides bid approval discussions internally.
- Coordinates proposal and donor reporting processes efficiently.
- Negotiates funding agreements and manages grant contracts.
- Ensures compliance with donor requirements and proposes solutions to align with donor expectations.
- Maintains organized records of donor intel and grant data.
- Participates in organization-wide discussions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements/Qualifications
- 5+ years' experience in nonprofit fundraising.
- Expertise in Trusts, Foundations, and corporate donor engagement.
- Background or interest in human rights, development, or conflict prevention.
- Master's degree preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in proposal development, grant management, and donor relations.
- Ability to work effectively in diverse cultural contexts and across time zones.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Applications.
- Knowledge of Salesforce or similar CRM platforms is advantageous.
- Understanding of donor/prospect research databases and systems.
