SUMMARY Duties include, but are not limited to, assisting the Project Coordinator with daily activities, recruiting youth participants, completing informed consent procedures, and administering surveys to youth and community members.

Additional responsibilities involve creating social media campaigns, visiting schools and community centers to give presentations, regularly attending community events, and participating in all scheduled grant meetings.

  • Complete training on research study protocol and human research protection.
  • Help develop culturally and age-appropriate recruitment strategies and
interventions.

  • Recruit and enroll study participants.
  • Help develop, organize, and participate in study activities.
  • Attend local community events to increase community awareness and recruit for
study.

  • Provide resources and education to study participants following study protocols.
  • Implement other project interventions following study protocols with direction of
Project Coordinator.

  • Help coordinate community stakeholders' participation and communication.
  • Communicate weekly with Project Coordinator regarding activities and progress.
  • Conduct outreach meetings and events with local partners.
  • Represent the project at meetings with key stakeholders.
  • Create social media campaigns to promote project and its activities.
  • Create project initiatives to increase community engagement.
  • Host monthly community nights to promote project and healthy coping skills.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

TRAVEL & DRIVING REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to travel for any required trainings or conferences.
Driving is required for this position. Must be comfortable and familiar with driving around our service area.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • Communitybased Participatory Research Experience in Tribal Communities Preferred
  • Community Event Planning Experience Preferred
  • Public Speaking and/or Group Moderation Experience Preferred
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGULATIONS

  • A valid California driver's license and a good driving record will be required at the time of appointment and must be maintained throughout employment.
  • Current CPR certification or attain within 6 months of hire.
  • Applicants must successfully pass a preemployment physical exam, tuberculin skin test or xray and urine drug screen test to include marijuana. Health must be adequate to perform all duties of the position.
  • Must pass criminal background check.
