Company Description:
CivilGrid is revolutionizing the pre-construction phase of construction by developing innovative solutions akin to building Google Maps for the underground. Founded as a seed-stage company, they have undergone two successful rounds of funding and are currently experiencing rapid growth. Their product dramatically accelerates pre-construction tasks, condensing what traditionally takes 6-8 weeks into a process that now spans just 5 minutes to 11 days. The Role:
CivilGrid is hiring a Business Development Representative to drive the creation of business opportunities in the AEC market (Architect, Engineer, and Construct). Your role will be to seek new business opportunities by contacting - via cold calls, emails, and LinkedIn messages - and developing relationships with potential customers.
You'll collaborate internally on sales strategy, and messaging as we refine our ICP and positioning. As a key member of an early-stage startup, you will have your fingerprints all over this business, acting as a primary voice of the customer.
Responsibilities:
- Contact potential clients through cold calls and emails
- Identify prospect needs and suggest appropriate product features
- Set up meetings or calls between prospects and Account Executive; collaborate with sales team based on prospect/customer feedback to enable new targets and campaigns
- Evolve customer value prop and messaging based on feedback and product evolution
- Prioritize targets based on size and broader market capture strategy
- Research and establish target customer contact lists

Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, engineering, or related field
- 2 years in BDR role or equivalent experience; experience with cold call/email, pitch content development, and follow-up
- Proven ability to meet sales quota
- Experience with CRM system
- Highly self-motivated
- Strong written and verbal communications abilities
- Comfortable building new relationships and networking
- Experience working with engineering or construction firms, real estate development firms, city governments, or utilities
- Prior startup and/or SaaS experience
- Compensation commensurate with experience, we expect the base comp for this role to be $60-70k and OTE $80-100k
