Fire Alarm Technician responsibilities:
  • Analyze blueprints, schematics, and drawings of fire alarm systems.
  • Diagnose causes of system failures and problems.
  • Install various fire alarm system components.
  • Respond to emergency situations for safety concerns.
  • Perform other assigned duties.

Qualifications:
  • Valid NICET II Fire Alarm Technician certification from the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and appliances for installation and repair.
    • Ability to follow maintenance instructions and schedules.
    • Knowledge of fire alarm systems and electrical codes.
    • Capability to interpret building plans and engineering drawings.

Physical Demands:

While performing the job, the employee is required to sit and communicate. They may engage in repeated motions involving arms, wrists, hands, or fingers.
