Fire Protection Engineer Job Description

Markon Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Fire Protection Engineer to support our Intelligence Community customers. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating fire protection requirements for various projects, providing subject matter expertise, and communicating effectively with senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct inspections of new construction and renovations to validate compliance with fire protection and life safety regulations.
  • Assist designers with document reviews, consultations, and interpreting fire life safety (FLS) requirements and regulations to ensure complete, biddable, and buildable designs.
  • Witness testing and commissioning of fire protection systems and equipment.
  • Conduct fire safety audits, inspections, and investigations.
  • Prepare draft fire protection policy, SOPs, and design standards.
  • Prepare and brief documentation on fire safety data and metrics.
Requirements:
  • Active TS/SCI with a Polygraph.
  • Bachelor's Degree plus 11 years of experience (experience/education may be substituted for equivalency).
  • Previous experience in the construction of fire suppression and fire alarm systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of applicable ICC and NFPA codes.
  • Ability to produce FLS designs of a variety of critical FLS elements and provide critical comments on FLS designs and installations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with 29 CFR.
  • Specific experience with programs at Federal agencies.
  • Former training on the use/maintenance of Fire Protection systems.
