- Ensuring excellent customer service
- Respond to inquiries regarding building codes, permitting processes, and specifications
- Assist with the preparation and review of permit applications
- Process building permit requests and issue certificates
- Handle building inspections and complaints
- Collect and record various fees
- Create and distribute necessary documents
- Research and compile requested records
- Maintain electronic files and records
- Knowledge of building codes, land use regulations, and zoning laws
- Strong technical aptitude and understanding of regulations
- Mathematical skills for fee calculations and error identification
- Experience in customer service and public interaction
- Computer literacy and experience with permitting software
- Clear communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to establish positive working relationships
- Two years of customer service experience
- Knowledge of ICC Building Codes and land use regulations
- Computer literacy and experience with permitting software
High school diploma or GED equivalent
License or CertificateICC certification as a Permit Technician required or ability to obtain within 12 months
Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience considered

Criminal background check required
