Description of Work
Manage and coordinate departmental activities related to the CALEA (Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies) accreditation process. Develop proofs for compliance with CALEA standards and Clery Act compliance.

Prepare policy drafts, documentation and reports, maintain related computer record databases such as PowerDMS , develop and revise agency forms, coordinate on-site assessments and inspections, track the submission of CALEA and Clery Act required administrative reports, and work closely with staff on policy review.

Develop and conduct law enforcement training on accreditation, compliance, and professional standards. Assist departmental staff in development, research, and implementation of general and specific programs and activities.

Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Business Administration or equivalent education/experience. Three years of previous experience working in this field in a higher education environment. Knowledge and ability to maintain police operations, practices, policies and principles. Considerable knowledge of state and local laws/ordinances. Knowledge of business software, all Microsoft office as well as electronic policy distribution software. Knowledge of proper grammar, spelling, punctuation, strong interpersonal, written and oral communications skills. Demonstrate a high degree of accuracy and be detail-oriented. Ability to produce and knowledge of document preparation. Ability to adhere to a work schedule that includes occasional regional and national travel. Time management and organizational skills. Ability to exercise independent judgment to organize and prioritize assignments and strictly adhere to established rules, guidelines and deadlines. Ability to maintain information of a confidential, sensitive nature. Must have a valid driver's license and meet University driver eligibility requirement.

Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Business Administration. Knowledge of departmental annual budget maintenance. Knowledge of demographic and geographic characteristics of community. Ability to evaluate operations, predict outcomes and make recommendations. Familiarity with Title IX. Knowledge or familiarity with, or ability to learn, Higher Education/Clery Act requirements and incorporate requirements into accreditation processes.
