Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting thorough research and coordination of all necessary data submissions and deadlines for the Municipal Energy Agency of Nebraska (MEAN) to ensure adherence to reporting obligations.
  • Collaborating with various departments to gain a comprehensive understanding of MEAN's data models and filing requirements; gathering and analyzing electric energy-related data from diverse sources to prepare reports for periodic filings.
  • Creating and updating written procedures for all operational processes while documenting essential information for regulatory submissions; establishing and overseeing regulatory calendars to guarantee ongoing compliance.
  • Evaluating transmission requests and agreements, coordinating with operational teams to optimize the delivery of energy assets.
  • Developing analytical models to assess current and potential transmission routes, providing insights for optimizing transmission strategies.
  • Engaging with transmission entities for ongoing projects and required assessments; completing necessary applications and agreements in collaboration with other departments.
  • Managing rate inputs into the transmission budget and monitoring changes, working with member relations to prepare communication materials regarding rate adjustments.
  • Contributing to the development of new regional energy imbalance and Regional Transmission Organization (RTO) markets to safeguard MEAN's transmission rights.
  • Participating in regional committees overseeing transmission tariffs and collaborating with internal teams to evaluate organizational impacts.
  • Completing and submitting forecasts for compliance to transmission providers.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and 1-3 years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to ensure timely completion of reports and submissions.
  • Analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to frequent changes in industry regulations.
  • Previous industry experience is preferred but not mandatory.
