About the Job
We are looking for a Group Leader for the Generative Protein Design Group within the Data Analytics and Decision Sciences Section. This role involves spearheading research on a cutting-edge computational pipeline using machine learning to optimize protein interactions for the Center for Predictive Bioresilience (CPB). CPB is a dynamic engineering center that combines computational modeling, machine learning, and biology to advance medical solutions.
Your Role
- Lead and guide a team of 10+ members, providing technical expertise and mentorship.
- Develop strategies to enhance research capabilities, collaborate with program leaders, and drive innovation.
- Plan and execute research initiatives, both internally and externally sponsored.
- Recruit new talent and ensure teamwork and quality in all projects.
- Contribute to strategic project vision and lead technical advancements in machine learning.
- Communicate complex ideas effectively and provide expert advice to all levels of management.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Machine Learning, Computational Biology, Statistics, or related field.
- Proficiency in deep learning, feature learning, and other machine learning techniques.
- Demonstrated leadership skills in a technical setting.
- Ability to build and motivate interdisciplinary teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desired Qualifications
- PhD in relevant field.
- Experience working with government sponsor organizations.
- Skills in employee development and performance management.
