Space Systems Group Leader

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Space Systems Group Leader to join our team at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL). As a Group Leader, you will be responsible for providing technical and operational leadership to a multi-disciplinary team of scientists, engineers, and technicians working on space system design, analysis, assembly, integration, and test.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide technical and operational leadership to a team of scientists, engineers, and technicians
- Participate in hiring and mentoring new Engineering staff
- Ensure group members remain current on all training requirements and follow Laboratory and Directorate policies and procedures
- Prepare and conduct annual performance appraisals and monitor group member performance
- Foster interactions with other NSED groups and Engineering Divisions for resource needs in SSSP
- Active Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance or active Top Secret clearance issued by another U.S. government agency at time of hire
- Ability to obtain and maintain Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, physical science, or related field or the equivalent combination of education and previous relevant experience
- Interpersonal skills that will attract, motivate, and retain a high performing technical staff
- Advanced communication, facilitation, and collaboration skills necessary to present, explain, provide to management and interpret and convey Laboratory policies to employees
- Master's degree or PhD in engineering, physical science or related field
- Experience operating in an SCI environment and handling SCI matters
- Advanced knowledge and significant experience in space systems engineering including system design, analysis, assembly, integration, test and proposals
We offer a competitive salary range of $172,140 - $221,064 Annually for the SEL.3 level and $206,490 - $265,188 Annually for the SEL.4 level. This is a Career Indefinite position, open to Lab employees and external candidates.
