About this Role:

The Chief, Medi-Cal Enterprise Systems Modernization Division (MESMD), Career Executive Assignment Level B, oversees all Information Technology (IT) management and policy-related functions for MESMD. This includes activities such as IT Product Development and Delivery, managing the Department's Modern Development Environment, Data Support, and Business Automation policies.

As a key member of the Enterprise Technology Services (ETS) leadership team, the Chief, MESMD, is responsible for providing strategic direction and overseeing day-to-day operations for MESMD.

The Chief, MESMD, holds direct leadership responsibility for the Division's Data Support Services and Business Automation Branch, Product Branch, and Factory and Engineering Branch. Utilizing agile project management strategies, the Chief, MESMD, ensures that IT projects and tasks align with customer requirements.

Working closely with DHCS Executive Staff, program partners, and external stakeholders, the Chief, MESMD, fosters innovation, development, and implementation of IT systems and software. Additionally, the Chief, MESMD, supervises vendor relationships and manages vendor contract administration.

Reporting to the Deputy Director and Chief Information Officer, ETS, the Chief, MESMD, operates as a part of DHCS Executive Staff.

This role is subject to the Department's Conflict of Interest Code, requiring the filing of a Statement of Economic Interests (Form 700) upon assuming the position, annually by April 1, and upon departure.
