Department Promotional exam open only to current eligible employees of the
Department of Human Services.

Minimum Qualifications/Employment Standards:


Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in the social or behavioral sciences, public or business administration or a closely related field AND two (2) years of management level experience in a multi-divisional public, private or nonprofit social services agency of which, one year (1) year of experience must have been equivalent to a Human Services Program Director.

Experience related to planning, evaluating, administering and managing a variety of responsibilities or operations requiring large expenditure of funds is preferred.


Substitution:

Completion of a graduate degree in social or behavioral sciences, public or business administration or a closely related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience.


Possession of a valid Class C California Motor Vehicle Operator's License and the ability to maintain proof of vehicle liability insurance is required.

Job Description for Assistant Director of Human Services

Examinations:

Examination components for promotional testing will be administered during the scheduled dates/times/locations without exception.**Oral Exam (Weight 100%): Will be conducted for the purpose of appraising the applicant's training, education, experience, interest and personal fitness for the position.

Applicants must attain at least a 70% score on each phase of the examination process.
