This is a role focused on overseeing the planning, implementation, and evaluation of seasonal collection plans to meet specific financial and productivity goals. Role responsibilities:
Inventory Management:
- Develop product strategies for each season considering financial and unit objectives per product category
- Ensure inventory plans align with merchandise strategies and budget, while identifying business prospects
- Supervise inventory levels across all retail locations to match company-wide trends and store capacities
- Monitor performance against targets and previous performances
- Present Retail channel strategy at Investment Review meetings
- Curate product assortment for New Store launches alongside merchandising
Reporting & Analysis:
- Manage markdown schedules and aged-inventory levels to enhance profitability while achieving sell-through targets
- Analyze weekly, monthly, and seasonal retail sales data to uncover risks and opportunities within the business
- Collaborate with Allocator to optimize planning reports on KPIs
- Report on store inventory positions and in-stock percentages to senior management
Allocation:
- Collaborate with merchants and allocators to devise an allocation strategy tailored to regional needs
- Supervise the Retail Allocator
- Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure timely product deliveries to stores
- Work with visual merchandising to understand key looks and window displays
Process:
- Develop a merchandising plan for the season based on financial goals and retail analysis
The plan will cover:
- Category Penetration Planning, Style, and Sku count guidance, and Replenishment requirements
- Assist in implementing new business processes like partner drop ship and other e-commerce platforms
- Proactively identify retail-specific issues and opportunities, suggesting solutions and sharing a unified direction
- Collaborate cross-functionally to grasp the entirety of business needs and challenges
Role requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in relevant merchandise planning, financial analysis, or a related analytical field
- Prior retail store planning experience with an outlet is necessary
- Excellent communication skills at all levels of the organization
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through
- Self-motivated to complete tasks independently
- Positive attitude and dedication to overcoming challenges with respect for all team members
- Collaborative mindset and openness to taking on additional tasks
- Strong analytical and problems-solving abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel), GSuite, and ERP systems (preferably NetSuite)
