The Private Duty Pediatric Nurse follows agency protocols, maintains detailed clinical notes, aids physicians and registered nurses in specialized procedures, readies equipment for treatments using proper sterile techniques, and teaches patients essential self-care practices.

Requirements:

  • Current LPN or RN license from the nursing board in the state of practice
  • Upbeat attitude and strong organizational skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Flexible and cooperative in fulfilling responsibilities
  • Adheres to professional standards and practices
  • Maintains good physical stamina and mental well-being
  • Valid driver's license with insured automobile meeting state and agency standards

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum one year of pediatric nursing experience
  • Background in community/home health or medical/surgical care

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver safe home health services to patients, families, and caregivers
  • Execute care plan developed by the RN Clinical Supervisor in collaboration with the physician
  • Support RN or physician in carrying out the care plan
  • Create and maintain personalized patient care records as per the care plan, ensuring accuracy
  • Provide patient, family, and caregiver education as outlined in the care plan
  • Document patient's condition and communications, addressing identified issues or providing reasons for not doing so
  • Teach patients and families home nursing procedures and appropriate care techniques
  • Administer medications, diets, and other instructions as directed
  • Utilize equipment and supplies efficiently
  • Engage in personal and professional development to stay updated on industry trends
  • Participate in agency's training and quality improvement initiatives
  • Contribute to public relations and community events promoting the agency's healthcare contributions
