SSM Health is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team in a Family Medicine setting. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care under the direction of a registered nurse or physician.
Key Responsibilities- Contribute to patient assessments and ensure patient well-being.
- Administer medications and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
- Perform laboratory tests and therapeutic services.
- Educate patients and families about disease treatment plans, including self-care post-discharge and follow-up care.
- Document patient encounters, including diagnoses, symptoms, and discharge instructions.
- Transcribe patient orders, including laboratory tests, radiology tests, and medications.
- Transcribe consultations and discussions with family members and private physicians.
- Work in a safe and alert manner.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or equivalent education for licensing.
- No experience required.
- Constant use of speech to share information through oral communication.
- Constant standing and walking.
- Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
- Frequent sitting, reaching, and keyboard use/data entry.
- Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near and far.
- Frequent use of smell to detect/recognize odors.
- Frequent use of hearing to receive oral communication.
- Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
- Occasional lifting/moving of patients.
- Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping, and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
- Occasional driving.
- Rare crawling and running.
- Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
