General Duties:

  • Specialized in one of the following trades: electrical, plumbing, HVAC/refrigeration, kitchen/laundry, carpentry, paint/wall covers, or locksmith, plus general maintenance tasks
  • Responsible for maintenance in their primary trade
  • Provides training to other engineering team members
  • Responds to maintenance calls throughout the hotel when instructed by supervisor
  • Proficient in using tools, equipment, and chemicals safely and efficiently
  • Communicates job status and maintenance requests to supervisor
  • Completes necessary records related to work performed
  • Assists with emergency procedures as needed
  • Performs minor equipment repairs
  • Familiar with hotel emergency procedures
  • May undertake minor set-up tasks for hotel events
  • Other duties as assigned

Supporting Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Promotes teamwork at all times
  • Reports problems promptly and completely
  • Provides excellent customer service to guests, management, and colleagues
  • Attends hotel meetings and training sessions
  • Maintains cleanliness of work area and equipment
  • Executes emergency procedures following hotel standards
  • Follows safety regulations and procedures
  • Adheres to hotel standards, policies, and rules
  • Recycles when possible
  • Stays updated on hotel information and changes
  • Adheres to uniform and grooming standards

Qualifications:

  • Post high school training in engineering/maintenance field
  • Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking)
  • Minimum 2 years experience in maintenance activities, with strong mechanical background
  • Capable of lifting up to 75 lbs. repetitively
  • Flexible availability including weekends and holidays
  • Guest-oriented with outstanding hospitality skills
