Position Summary
NAG Marine is currently looking for a driven technical sales, business development professional to join our team. This role entails effectively specifying our existing products into projects at the forefront, while also proactively identifying opportunities to innovate and develop new products that align with our core strengths. We are seeking a candidate who is dedicated to learning the technical intricacies of NAG Marine's product lines, enabling them to approach business development from a technical standpoint. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team environment, actively contributing to our collective success.
Specifically, the candidate will be responsible for leading NAGs business development initiatives, focusing primarily on cultivating relationships with key stakeholders (Engineers, Vessel Managers, Port Engineers, Chief Engineers, Ships' Force, and Contracts) within the Department of Defense and Government clients, notably including the US Coast Guard, Military Sealift Command, and Maritime Administration (MARAD). Due to the strategic significance of our present and future engagements with these key customers, this position is based in the Norfolk, VA area.
Specific Responsibilities Include
- Identify and prioritize target accounts and opportunities, and develop strategic plans to engage and win new business
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, influencers, and stakeholders within the Department of Defense community
- Proficient in engaging diverse audiences, such as Technical Leads and/or Subject Matter Experts, in sales discussions
- Develop a solid technical expertise in our product lines
- Periodic travel is necessary to meet with clients and participate in industry trade shows
- Employ CRM tools to record and monitor sales interactions and potential opportunities
Required Experience and Education
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent certification
- Minimum of 2 years of technical sales experience
- Eagerness to acquire technical knowledge of the product lines
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment
Desired Experience
- Prior experience in sales of fluids automation instrumentation and/or embedded computer hardware is highly preferred
- Previous exposure to Department of Defense and/or shipboard applications is advantageous
- Possessing a familiarity and practical understanding of industry specifications such as:
USCG Type Approvals
ABS Approvals (SVR, NVR)
MIL-STD Approvals (MIL-S-901E, MIL-STD-167, and MIL-STD-461)
