About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join our team at Burns & McDonnell. As a key member of our Ports and Maritime business, you will play a vital role in delivering complex infrastructure projects across the nation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the discipline design for large projects, delegating work tasks to team members and executing work to resolve issues in a team environment.
  • Develop and implement innovative solutions for projects and processes, collaborating with experienced designers and an in-house construction team.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders, translating complex concepts and inspiring enthusiasm for the important work we deliver to our communities.
  • Manage projects that require diverse services, leveraging our 12,000 engineers, scientists, technologists, and communication professionals to support nearly any project task.
  • Participate in business development opportunities, identifying and analyzing strategic alignment with company objectives.
  • Collaborate with managers, marketing staff, and other Burns & McDonnell Global Practices to cultivate effective relationships with existing and potential key clients, customers, and contractors.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program, with 7 years of civil engineering experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • General business and financial calculation knowledge, as well as proficiency with AutoCAD/MicroStation, Microsoft Office tools, and Microsoft Project.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and presentation skills, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred.
