SUMMARY

The Cloud Engineer's role involves designing, implementing, and documenting top-notch technical solutions that align with the business needs on a large and intricate data system for the agency.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

Must hold a Top Secret clearance requiring U.S. Citizenship.

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of (8) eight years' relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of (15) fifteen years of education/experience.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Evaluating CSP provided documentation and providing recommendations to the government on the acceptability of technical artifacts.
  • Monitoring and reporting commercial parity exceptions monthly to support the JWCC PMO.
  • Assessing change/release notifications from CSPs and advising the government on the operational implications of those changes.
  • Offering guidance on designing cloud infrastructure capable of supporting cloud-based applications focusing on scalability, automation, performance, and availability.
  • Advising the user community on CSO adoption based on specific DoD use cases.
  • Engaging with CSPs weekly to discuss the cloud adoption pipeline.
  • Interacting with CSPs to address routine queries regarding DoD configuration, policy, and controls.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of (8) eight years' relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of (15) fifteen years of education/experience.

JOB SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

Advanced comprehension of distributed systems through on-premises, cloud-native, or hybrid computing.

Familiarity with systems management concepts, processes, and standards, capacity and performance management, tuning, as well as storage and network management.

Solid understanding of infrastructure: AD, DNS, firewalls, load balancers, routing, switching, and more.

Experience in developing applications using various programming languages.

Proficiency in database systems, microservices, and containerization, encompassing virtualization, orchestration, cluster management, and container storage.

Proficient in scripting languages.
