This position is located at one of the Service Units under the Navajo Area Indian Health Service, in the Division of Nursing Services. The primary purpose of this position is to perform comprehensive professional nursing duties by assessing patients conditions, evaluate nursing needs of patients, developing a plan of care, implementing and modifying it as needs changes
Duties
- Receives orientation and guidance on nursing policies, regulations and general functions of the unit to which assigned.
- Plans and provides nursing care for individual patients.
- Participates in nursing care planning conferences.
- Administers drugs prescribed for patients.
- Performs venipunctures for purpose of administration of I.V. fluid therapy.
- Records case histories; measures temperature, pulse, respirations, heights, weight and blood pressure; tests vision and hearing.
