Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse (HIV/AIDS) to join our team at the Indian Health Service. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide direct nursing care to patients with HIV/AIDS and other STIs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients with HIV/AIDS and other STIs, including conducting field visits to rural areas as needed.
  • Develop and implement community outreach programs to educate patients on HIV/STI prevention.
  • Follow up with patients to ensure they are receiving proper treatment and care.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest treatments and medications for HIV/AIDS and other STIs.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
Requirements
  • Graduate or higher level degree in nursing from an accredited professional nursing educational program.
  • Current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
  • At least one year of professional nursing experience in a specialty area of nursing, including experience in HIV/AIDS care.
  • Knowledge of the disease process, complications, and treatment options associated with HIV/AIDS and other STIs.
  • Knowledge of medications used in treatment, their side effects, and combinations used for treatment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and provide empathetic and compassionate care to patients.
