This position is located with the Division of Clinical Services, Dental Service Branch at Gallup Indian Medical Center in Gallup, New Mexico.
Key Responsibilities- Provide primary clinic, consultative, training, and program planning services.
- Diagnose and treat dental diseases, injuries, and disorders of the oral cavity and maxillofacial area.
- Perform corrective surgery, make measurements/models for dentures, administer anesthetics, and write prescriptions.
- Provide continuing dental education for pediatric treatment and management.
- Participate in the development and implementation of continuing education courses.
- Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from a school approved by the American Dental Association (ADA) or the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA).
- Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice dentistry in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
- One or more full years of experience, equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing professional dentistry work for GS-12 level and above assignments.
This position requires the ability to distinguish shades of color and work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
