The Work


Some responsibilities of the Operational Baseline IPT include implementing updates to the simulator's operating system, implementing new software security features including following the Risk Management Framework (RMF) JSIG and applying Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), and implementing Continuous Deployment and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

As a key member of our Engineering team, you will:

  • Perform hardware and software diagnostics, troubleshooting, and maintenance on multiple IT components
  • Manage system integrity, availability, and cyber compliance of networked systems
  • Assist in the development of solutions across components of systems through design, integration, implementation and support
  • Participate in phases of software and hardware development, leveraging our DevOps engineering processes and procedures while performing respective engineering activities
  • Collaborate with other program personnel, participating in cross functional Agile teams

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9 years of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.
  • Linux/UNIX installation, configuration and administration in DevOps environment.
Experience managing server infrastructures across multiple platforms (UNIX, Linux)

  • Experience in package management including update, install, removal and querying.
  • Experience with Python programming language, debugging, template scripting, and bash scripting
  • This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Desired Skills:

  • Experience in troubleshooting security, backup, disaster recovery, performance monitoring on RHEL and SLES systems
  • Experience in configurations management of packages and patches, version control and service packs
  • Experience with firmware upgrades and kernel patches on Linux systems
  • Experience with configuring kick starts to install Linux and virtual machine ESX on multiple machines
  • Understanding of Agile software development methodologies
  • Configuration and installation of continuous integration tools supporting Infrastructure as
  • Code (IaC) for automated builds and provisioning.
  • Experience writing Ansible Playbooks to manage configurations and baselines
  • Experience Automating application deployment inside software containers
  • Experience developing, documenting and automating reusable build and release processes

Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed.
