Job Description:


The Facilities, Maintenance, and Operations Department at the State University of New York at Oswego is seeking candidates for a full-time Office Assistant 1 (Stores/Mail) position, Grade 06.


Posting Date:

Salary:
The annual salary for this position is $31,870, commensurate with qualifications and experience, along with an attractive benefit package from the State University of New York.

Date of Appointment:
Immediate start date is preferred.

Description of Responsibilities:

  • Receive, deliver, and organize mail, email, goods, and materials efficiently
  • Maintain accurate records, files, and documents as per guidelines
  • Process outgoing mail and manage mail listings effectively
  • Operate equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks if needed
  • Perform data entry tasks and manage supply inventory
  • Assist customers and handle phone inquiries professionally
  • Physical ability to bend, stand, walk for extended periods

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:


Candidates must meet specific eligibility criteria to apply for this position.


Permanent Appointment:


Minimum one year of relevant service in a similar role is required.


70.1 transfer or reinstatement:


Minimum one year of relevant service is required for transfer or reinstatement.


Reassignment:
Minimum service in a relevant role as specified.

Provisional Appointment:


Minimum service in an office assistant role of Grade 5 or higher is required.


Conditions of Employment:
This position will be either permanent or provisional.
