Job Description:
Combination of two primary tasks. Highest priority which is returning equipment to production, trouble shoot, addressing root cause. 2nd, and heavier burden which is projects. 3 major projects including machines up and running, and programmed to work best with Client's applications. Ability to read electrical mechanical design documentation. In order to troubleshoot, this is important. Looking for a glorified electrician. Regulated industry experience is a must have.

Position Summary:
Design and fabricate controls systems for automated production equipment

Essential Functions:

Work with manufacturing engineers, technicians, and maintenance in designing and providing manufacturing support and training for automated equipment Demonstrate organization, problem solving, communication, and team leadership/participation skills Evaluate process and design alternatives based on Design for Manufacturability principles Establish machine specifications based on customer requirements Design control systems and develop and test software Work with systems that range in scope from stand alone PLC and HMI systems to multi-component, multi-user process control systems often with interface to Corporate databases Program and integrate PLCs and HMIs using the following hardware/software: Allen Bradley, Acroloop, Cognex, DVT, Parker Compumotor, Keyence, .

NET, Visual basic, VBA Ensure projects meet operating expectations and are completed within authorized budgets and schedule constraints Establish knowledge base of new developments in manufacturing and design technologies Interface with vendors on procuring materials, services, and equipment Troubleshoot new and existing automated equipment Assemble and evaluate automated equipment Support equipment validations

Requirements:

Top 3 Technical Skills:
familiarity with Allen Bradley studio 5,000, Ethernet connectivity (IP Logic), Regulatory environment familiarity.

Additional Details:
Will need to lift up to 50lb's when working on the machines occasionally. Local traveling between sites, one in Scarborough and one in Westbrook. Primary location is Westbrook. Local candidates highly preferred.

Education:
Engineer bachelor's degree or background, not looking for anything specific. Computer science/electrical engineering would help. 4+ years of experience. Associates with 7+ years of experience would be acceptable. Experience in automation and controls engineering is important with less experience.
