Job Summary
The Lead Quality Assurance Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the quality assurance process, making informed decisions regarding quality assurance policies and procedures, and managing a variety of quality assurance issues in both field and office settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Process Management: Oversee the quality process, ensuring compliance with contract documents, plans, specifications, and applicable codes.
- Quality Control: Direct the removal and replacement of non-conforming work and halt work that does not comply with contract specifications.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with contract documents, plans, specifications, and applicable codes by reviewing and submitting RFIs.
- Trade Partner Management: Coordinate and schedule trade partner test and inspection requests.
- Deficiency Management: Participate in the work completion tagging process, in-house punch list process, and pre-final punch list process to document deficiencies.
- Audit and Quality Recognition: Audit trade partner quality control procedures and engage in the quality recognition program.
- Continuous Improvement: Advocate for and participate in continuous improvement processes and lessons learned initiatives.
- Safety and Housekeeping: Conduct safety and housekeeping inspections through the SAFE program.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in quality control on large commercial construction projects.
- Skills: Strong communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, as well as experience with Prolog, Primavera, and AutoCAD.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced Knowledge: Advanced understanding of specifications, standards, and code requirements across various disciplines (architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical).
- Leadership Experience: Previous experience in mentoring or leading quality control teams.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) technology.
