We are currently seeking a dedicated Certified Nurse Aide to join our esteemed Lubbock Heart team.
Responsibilities Include:
- Receive instructions from the Charge Nurse upon starting shift regarding each patient's care.
- Take Vital Signs as instructed, report any abnormalities to the primary care nurse, and document in the patient's electronic medical record.
- Monitor and record patients' fluid intake/output in their medical records.
- Keep unit equipment and area clean, following necessary protocols.
- Track equipment usage and any losses.
- Monitor refrigerator/freezer temperatures for the unit.
- Conduct inventory and dispose of expired items as directed.
- Prepare rooms for patient admissions and assist in discharge processes.
- Help patients with various tasks such as eating, dressing, bathing, and moving around.
- Check and respond to patient needs via call lights or redirecting to appropriate staff.
- Assist in obtaining supplies for the unit and patients.
- Monitor and report any changes in patients' condition to the nursing staff.
- Support patients in noninvasive procedures under supervision.
- Perform other assigned duties like stocking and assisting with procedures.
- Assist with blood glucose monitoring after completing necessary competencies.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- 0-2 years of experience as a nurse's assistant in a healthcare environment
- Current BLS Certification
- Certified Nursing Assistant certification
Work Shift: Full Time Nights
