Eligible for a Sign-On Bonus

We are in search of a committed Licensed Vocational Nurse to enhance our Surgery Partners team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Registered Nurse in evaluating the nursing care requirements of acute care patients across various age groups.
  • Collect relevant patient care information utilizing all available resources.
  • Collaborate with the RN to implement and execute the nursing care plan for patients.
  • Administer medications safely and accurately, adhering to the standards of acute care nursing.
  • Educate patients and their families about care procedures and health management.
  • Provide appropriate interventions during emergency situations commonly faced by acute care patients.
  • Perform essential patient care tasks as dictated by the specific nursing unit.
  • Maintain effective communication with healthcare team members regarding patient care.
  • Document nursing interventions to ensure an accurate and legal medical record.
  • Operate specialized equipment as required in the acute care setting.
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe environment for all patients.
  • Engage in the care of patients undergoing procedures that necessitate sedation and anesthesia.
  • Participate in departmental and hospital committees as needed.
  • Attend mandatory meetings and training sessions.
  • Utilize knowledge of age-specific care needs to monitor patient status effectively.
  • Observe and report significant changes in patient conditions that may require adjustments to care plans.
  • Adhere to OSHA standards and protocols for safety against bloodborne pathogens.

Qualifications:

  • Current LVN licensure in the state of Texas (or compact license).
  • BCLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of relevant experience.
