Job Summary

As the Point of Care Coordinator, you will play a key role in planning, organizing, and providing technical services for testing at various sites. You will ensure quality control, compliance with standards, and adherence to regulatory requirements like CLIA and CAP guidelines.

Essential Job Functions
  • Oversee point of care testing operations
  • Develop and implement quality control programs
  • Ensure timely result reporting
  • Verify compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Monitor quality and compliance
  • Prepare documentation for compliance activities
  • Participate in quality improvement activities
  • Evaluate new instruments and methods
  • Maintain inventory of testing supplies
  • Ensure proper operation of testing equipment
  • Facilitate electronic connectivity between devices and systems
  • Assist in charge capture and posting for services
Required Qualifications
  • CLIA'88 qualification for high complexity testing
  • Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory science or related field
  • Certification or eligibility as medical technologist or specialist
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in laboratory information systems
  • Experience with laboratory equipment and methodologies
  • Knowledge of QC/QA/QI principles
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Three years experience in a clinical laboratory
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements
Position Details
  • Job Type/FTE: Full-Time
  • Shift: Days + Every 4th weekend and week evenings on call
  • Unit/Department: Alternate Site Testing
  • CBA code: Non-Union
