Job Summary:

The Department of Event Management, Dining, and Hospitality is one of 13 departments within the Division of Student Affairs.

It provides the campus community and guests with high-quality, efficient, and innovative event services and dining options in a variety of settings dedicated to accentuating and enhancing the campus experience in a diverse community.


This position plays an integral role in EMDH by contributing to the fiscal management of the department through a variety of accounting tasks such as processing data, monitoring and reconciling accounts, and maintaining financial records.

Required Qualifications:

  • A) course work in accounting, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
  • 9 semester hours equal two (2) years (24 months)
B) course work in any discipline or a closely related field, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:

  • 30 semester hours equal one (1) year (12 months)
  • Associate's Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen (18) months
  • 90 semester hours equal two (2) years (24 months)
C) work experience which could include bookkeeping, office support, or closely related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles, methods and terminology.
  • Extensive knowledge of bookkeeping procedures including databases, spreadsheets and word processing.
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately with cash and figures.
  • High level of proficiency in using Excel spreadsheets.
  • Demonstrated ability to use independent judgments and initiative.
  • Accuracy, dependability, and clear written and spoken communication skills are essential.

Work Hours:

8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday

Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:

  • Ability to effectively communicate on a daily basis, both verbally and in written forms.
  • Ability to use a computer in day-to-day work (i.e. type on a keyboard and use a mouse).
