Transportation Technology Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Technology Support Specialist to join our team at McLean County Unit District No. 5. As a key member of our Technology Department, you will provide essential technology support focused on transportation-related issues within the district.
Key Responsibilities- Computer and Peripheral Device Support: Connect, name, image, and troubleshoot district computers and related devices.
- Helpdesk Management: Complete helpdesk tickets and escalate as necessary.
- Secondary Server and Software Support: Assist in maintaining district servers and software.
- Hardware Management: Monitor, test, repair, track warranties, and replace hardware as needed.
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate technology inventory records for district buildings.
- Software Deployment: Provide deployment, discovery, and troubleshooting support on local machines.
- Active Directory Management: Update and maintain computer accounts within Active Directory.
- Training and Support: Plan and deliver training for district-specific software and hardware needs.
- Technology Deployment: Assist in the deployment and management of district technology equipment.
- Bus Video Management: Download, archive, and distribute bus videos per helpdesk ticket requests.
- Bus Camera Hardware Support: Monitor, test, repair, track warranties, and replace bus camera hardware.
- Transportation Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records for transportation-related technology.
- Training for Transportation Staff: Plan and deliver training specific to transportation video software and hardware needs.
- Other Duties: Perform additional duties as requested by the Director of Technology.
- Education: Candidate must have a high school diploma and two years of related college credit or equivalent work experience.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of MS Windows, Google Workspace, and various technologies.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially when explaining technical concepts to non-technical staff.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to multitask while maintaining detailed reports and filing systems.
- Problem Solving: Self-Motivated with the ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and proactively seek solutions.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to see, hear, and speak clearly, have a valid driver's license, bend and stand for extended periods, and repetitively lift up to 40 pounds.
