Soliant Education is seeking a skilled and dedicated Sign Language Interpreter to join our team in the Ontario, Oregon area for the 2024/2025 school year. This is a full-time, 1-on-1 position working directly with a student. Immediate interviews are available.
Responsibilities:
- Provide 1-on-1 sign language interpretation services for a student.
- Facilitate communication between the student, teachers, peers, and other school staff.
- Interpret spoken English and Spanish into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa.
- Support the student's understanding of classroom instructions, discussions, and activities.
- Assist in adapting instructional materials to meet the communication needs of the student.
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to ensure an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL), English, and Spanish is required.
- Previous experience as a sign language interpreter in an educational setting preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a 1-on-1 setting.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive educational environment.
