Role Overview:

The Speech Therapist will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating a variety of cognitive and communication disorders primarily affecting children. An SLEP with expertise and understanding of speech-language pathology will play a crucial role in improving the lives of the patients. The Speech Language Pathologist will design and implement effective treatment programs tailored to individual needs, collaborating closely with patients/families, team members, and payers to achieve optimal outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.
  • Interpret assessment results and develop personalized treatment plans based on individual patient needs.
  • Implement evidence-based therapy techniques and strategies to address communication challenges.
  • Provide ongoing monitoring and evaluation of treatment progress, adjusting therapy plans as necessary.
  • Educate and involve patients/families in the treatment process, offering support and guidance.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, occupational therapists, and educators, to ensure coordinated care.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documentation, and billing information.
  • Communicate effectively with insurance companies and payers regarding authorization, progress reports, and reimbursement.
  • Stay informed about the latest research, advancements, and best practices in the field of speech-language pathology.
  • Participate in professional development activities and pursue opportunities for continuous learning.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist in California.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred.
  • Experience working with children and adolescents with various speech and language disorders.
  • Knowledge and understanding of cognitive and communication disorders affecting children.
  • Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment planning skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with patients/families, team members, and payers.
  • Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care with the ability to establish rapport with patients of diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
