Team Overview

The Risk IT cluster consists of 4 blocks with global end-to-end responsibility over the domain. Each block is a high performing, multidisciplinary team of IT Engineers and Business Developers, who work together in an agile way. This is a global team with representation in Europe, Asia-Pacific and USA (Chicago).

This position will lead the Risk IT Data block and build a best-in-class, data-driven Risk function that delivers value and trust to our stakeholders. To be able to achieve that we reshape our Risk landscape into independent, future proof risk services. The transformation program we run is of strategic importance and highly visible in the organization. Thanks to our global network with offices in eleven countries and proximity to all major exchanges, you will serve the best trading firms on four continents.

Job Overview

As the Product Owner for the Risk IT cluster, you are the driving force behind strategic decision-making related to Risk IT Data services. This is a leadership role that involves navigating complexities and collaborating with diverse stakeholders, to position the organization for sustained success.

You will work closely together with the other Product Owners, Business Developers, and IT Engineers in the domain as well as with many other teams in the organization. You lead efforts to design software systems that can scale with increasing volumes, with a strong emphasis on high-availability standards, efficiency, and resilience.

You do this by gathering requirements from various departments (like Risk management). In addition, you continuously optimize the right balance between control (e.g., prioritizing life cycle management of your managed products) and adding new functionality.

This is a hybrid position, that will require generally a minimum of three days per week onsite at the Chicago office location in the financial district of the loop. Potential for travel based on business need.

Job Responsibilities

  • End-to-end responsibility for Change, Run and Control activities (regulation, operations & budget) on a global level within the Risk Data block
  • Establish vision, build and execute strategy/roadmap, and define/prioritize OKRs to achieve business goals
  • Build and execute strategy to develop software solutions for data integration from a variety of sources, including databases, APIs, and third-party service
  • Manage cross-block/cluster dependencies, to ensure alignment and synergy across multiple products & services
  • Ensure stakeholders, clients and Risk systems can consume high-quality Risk data services in the most effective and satisfactory way possible.
  • Guide, support and maintain people management responsivities for a global team of 10 Business developers

Job Requirements

  • 10+ years relevant experience, Masters degree preferred
  • Experience managing and leading global teams of 5+ people
  • Proven leader, establishing vision, building and executing strategy, and defining OKRs to achieve business goals
  • Excellent pro-active advisor with strong communication abilities
  • Ability to work cross functionally with stakeholders from engineers, business developers to management team members
  • Action oriented, delivery-focused, ambitious, with a getting things done mindset, work outside of one's comfort zone
  • Ability to support global working hours when needed
  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule with generally a min of 3 days in office

Preferred

  • Familiarity with programming languages (e.g. C++ / SQL / Python), and data orchestration/ETL processes
  • Financial industry, particularly in the field of Risk management, is advantageous
  • Experience with Scrum Methodology
