PROGRAM/DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

The Boston Public Health Commission's Homeless Services Bureau (HSB) is committed to providing essential support to unhoused individuals, including emergency shelter, job training, behavioral health services, and housing assistance. Our goal is to make homelessness rare, brief, and non-recurring by offering proactive solutions to prevent individuals from experiencing homelessness and by swiftly transitioning those who are homeless into stable housing. We operate under a Housing First and racial justice framework, believing that everyone deserves safe housing without the need for sobriety. Our services are centered around evidence-based practices, such as trauma-informed care and harm reduction, to ensure all our guests have the support they need to succeed.

In your role as the HMIS Training and Data Quality Assurance Manager, you will play a crucial part in ensuring that our staff are adept in using the Bureau's Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) and maintaining data quality standards. Your responsibilities will include assessing staff competency, developing training strategies, conducting HMIS training sessions, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to enhance staff knowledge and skills.

DUTIES
  • Assess staff competency in HMIS

  • Provide on-the-job training and troubleshooting
  • Consult with Department and Program Leadership
  • Monitor data collection and identify improvement needs
  • Compile statistical reports and maintain training materials
