Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program is a leading provider of health care services to individuals experiencing homelessness in greater Boston. With a mission to ensure equitable and dignified access to high-quality health care, we serve over 10,000 homeless individuals each year.

Job Summary

We are seeking a full-time Registered Nurse to join our team at our clinics at the Southampton shelter, Transitions shelter, and other sites as dictated by program needs. This position provides daily nursing support for clinic patients as part of a multidisciplinary team in a highly collaborative environment.

Responsibilities
  • Direct nursing care of patients on assigned Team to ensure that all needs of the patients are met, in conformance with established policies and procedures, as well as Department of Health rules and regulations.
  • Responsible for accurate assessments and documentation, reporting to appropriate personnel as indicated (i.e., on-call provider, nurse manager, Site Manager, etc.).
  • Responsible for administering medications and treatments to all the patients assigned to his/her skillfully and correctly, documenting per policy. Observe and report any adverse reactions.
  • Provide all nursing related activities in association with primary care clinical operations at BHCHP primary clinic settings: including direct care and nursing case management activities, immunization and screenings.
  • Provide triage and nursing assessment of walk-in and scheduled patients as directed.
Requirements
  • Commonwealth of Massachusetts RN license.
  • Minimum of 2 years nursing experience preferred.
  • Experience with underserved population preferred.
Benefits

The compensation starts at $35.22 per hour and increases based on years of experience. BHCHP full-time employees are eligible for our competitive time off policy, health, dental and vision insurance, 403B retirement savings plan and employer retirement contribution, and pre-tax MBTA pass program with 40% discount.

In addition, eligible employees will receive yearly increases, additional compensation of seven thousand five hundred dollars added to your base hiring rate for demonstrated bilingual proficiency, and the opportunity to work with local hospitals and community health centers.
