Job Summary and Qualifications:


As a Respiratory Therapy Student Technician, you will be under the supervision of a licensed respiratory care practitioner (RCP) and administer non-invasive respiratory care/therapy to patients as ordered by the attending physician.

You will perform noninvasive diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, therapy under the supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Supervisor or Respiratory Therapy Charge Therapist.

You will participate in providing patient specific standards as directed, and follow service excellence standards to ensure high levels of patient satisfaction.


  • You will administer and monitor respiratory therapy treatments
  • You will record patient information on patient medical record
  • You will perform noninvasive diagnostic tests and noninvasive respiratory therapy, i.e. nebulizer therapy
  • You will administer and monitor continuous oxygen therapy
Job Requirements

Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent or higher level of education
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited respiratory care program and completion of two semesters preferred
  • Active student status must be maintained and documented
Licenses and Certifications

  • Must be presently enrolled in an accredited respiratory care program, pursuant to Texas licensure
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification as per St. David's HealthCare policy
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification as per St. David's HealthCare policy preferred
