We are currently seeking an HR Manager, Support and Compliance to join our People & Culture team. The HR Manager is a supervisory role that oversees and manages the HR support and compliance operations for our franchise locations and subsidiary company, JEM Wellness Brands.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures that align with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Manage employee relations and ensure proper guidance and support is provided to our team members.
  • Oversee our HR Helpdesk Ticketing Platform – ensure information available to team members is complete and accurate; implement solutions for continuous improvement of platform.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Partner with our PEO HR team on HR related items and compliance initiatives; oversee the HRIS system and ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Function as point of contact for PEO related issue escalations.
  • Oversee HR related processes not supported by our PEO including, but not limited to, workers compensation.
  • Oversee Open Enrollment process in partnership with our PEO and insurance brokers.
  • Help manage the team member recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes from a compliance and administrative standpoint; oversee ATS.
  • Manage HR projects and initiatives as assigned.

  • Problem solving and strategic skills: ability to identify opportunities for improvement in our HR processes and policies and effectively implement solutions.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • 2+ years experience in Management.
  • Expert in California employment laws & regulations preferred.
  • Experience supporting HR functions across multiple states preferred.
  • Experience working with HRIS, ATS, and support ticketing systems preferred.
  • Background in franchise business models preferred
