It is an accredited Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) at the United Nations, UNESCO and the OSCE, the Organization of American States, the Latin American Parliament, and the Council of Europe. The SWC is headquartered in Los Angeles with offices in New York, Chicago, Miami, Toronto, Paris, Jerusalem and Buenos Aires. The Museum of Tolerance Los Angeles, founded in 1993, is the educational arm of the SWC. Moriah Films is the Center's two-time Academy Award-winning film division and the Museum of Tolerance Jerusalem is scheduled to open in 2024.

About the role:

The Simon Wiesenthal Center is seeking an experienced Social Media Manager.

About you:

You are passionate about fighting anti-Semitism, hate and intolerance, Jewish issues, Middle East politics, standing with Israel.

This position will report to the Director of Global Communications and will work on-site in Los Angeles. This is not a remote or hybrid position.

Responsibilities:

  • Increasing the Simon Wiesenthal Center's presence on social media, and fostering engagement around the SWC's mission and activities
  • Work closely with the Communications Team
  • Social Media management of all channels such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Yelp, and other social networking mediums
  • Create and implement social media calendar
  • Create content that is vetted then shared
  • Continue to build and foster relationships with followers across all platforms
  • Monitor content on all platforms and report/escalate concerning messages, mentions, posts, etc. per Media Security Escalation Protocol
  • Oversee data collection and be prepared to report on analytics
  • Develop relevant social media fundraising in collaboration with online fundraising
  • Work closely with the Communications team to help produce platform-specific content campaigns to support the social action agenda of the SWC
  • Stay current with digital trends and advocate for implementation of best practices including emerging technologies
  • Ensure that all social media is vetted, reviewed and approved in advance of deadlines
  • Implement advertising across all platforms
Experience and Skills:
  • Have a Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism or related fields, with a minimum of 2 year of relevant work experience
  • Are proficient in Social Media platforms (i.e. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, etc.) and best practices
  • Can work in a busy environment with many demands while maintaining poise and professionalism
  • Possess a self-starting attitude, are ready to seize opportunities and make an impact without specific instruction
  • Have experience working with Blackbaud's Luminate software
  • Understand Facebook Insights, Google Analytics and other analytics platforms, as well as Partner vendors (couponing, webinars, social monitoring providers, etc.)
  • Have excellent organizational and written communication skills, proofreading and editing skills
  • Have basic graphic design skills (i.e. PhotoShop, Adobe Illustrator, etc.)
  • Are able to multi-task, handle requests from multiple sources and determine priorities as well as order of completion
  • Spot industry news and trends and share with the team
  • Deep understanding of Jewish issues, Middle East politics
  • Passion for fighting anti-Semitism, hate and intolerance, standing with Israel, Jewish issues
