- Monitor resident population and reports any suspiciousactivities or violations of policy, procedures, or regulations byresidents or otherindividuals.
- Conduct resident counts, searches, room inspections,and vehicle searches as required. Conduct drug and alcohol testing as needed or asdirected by facilityadministration.
- Process residents for intake/discharge in accordancewith policies andprocedures.
- Monitor resident worker activities, provides necessaryinstruction, and applies standards and procedures for thecompletion and quality of work performed by residents, whereapplicable.
- Perform rescue functions at accidents, emergencies anddisasters to include administering basic emergency medical aid andCPR, physically removing people away from dangerous situations, andsecuring and evacuating people from confinedareas.
- Distribute food platesduring late mealservice.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma, GED certification or equivalent isrequired.
- California Adult Corrections Officer CoreCourse certification is preferred.
- Must complete the STC CORE course within one year ofhire date or transfer to theposition.Work experience in the operations of a correctionalfacility ispreferred.Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writingand apply problem solving techniques to complexissues. Must be available to work anyhours, anyshift.Must complete pre-service and other training programsas required.
- A valid driverlicense ispreferred.Minimum age requirement: Must beat least 18 years ofage.
